George
Lankford is fascinated with steamboats and wants to build a
steam-powered engine. But he needs the help of friend Charles Lidell
who was horribly scarred by severe burns. Other kids tease George about
his friendship with Charles. Then the New Madrid earthquakes
of
1911 and 1912 hit and steam engines are forgotten.
